Specificity metrics¶

Name	Caracteristics of the metrics	Boundary	Optimum	Description
Gini coefficient		–	The lower the better	Evaluates the inequality of the gene's distribution.
Kendall's tau		[0, 1] or [-1, 1]	–	Similar to Gini and Shannon, but less restrictive.
One-vs-All		[0, 1]	1	Gene expression in one cell type versus the rest.
One-vs-Max		[0, +∞[	–	Gene expression in one cell type vs the second most highly expressed cell type.
Shannon Entropy		[0, 1]	–	Entropy of gene distribution across cell types.
